As with all my work, the piece is first informed by previously obtained materials--this piece started with a tiny, second-hand, silver goblet. This piece draws inspiration from 16th and 17th Dutch still lifes, exploring luminous and fantastical textures of foods, the human body, and natural material. 'overfloweth' is composed of 16 vintage glass doll eyes, a vintage silver wine goblet, rhinestones, Swarovski crystals, human hair, pastels, and sculpting clay.
