This grant provides Minnesota-based early career film directors, working in short and/or long form experimental, narrative, animation or documentary genres, or in any hybrid combination of these forms, up to $10,000 to engage in self-designed mentorship with experienced directors or other film professionals to strengthen their film directing craft and/or professional skills in connection with a specific film project.

Minnesota Filmmaker Mentorship Grant

ITSLIQUID Group, in collaboration with ACIT Venice – Italian-German Cultural Association, is pleased to announce the open call for MORPHOS – TEMPORARY IDENTITIES 2025, a Venice International Art Fair that will take place from April 24 to May 09, 2025, in Venice, at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello and in other prestigious venues and historical buildings.

  
MORPHOS – TEMPORARY IDENTITIES exhibition explores the transformation of identity in a world that is constantly evolving. The human body becomes a dynamic system of communication, expanding its boundaries and redefining connections between personal and collective identities. At the same time, landscapes and cities turn into open, conceptual spaces, abstract yet deeply connected to human experience.

  
The exhibition envisions a future where identity and environment evolve together. By breaking limits and redefining borders, MORPHOS – TEMPORARY IDENTITIES invites all the artists to immerse themselves in a multisensory exploration of their consciousness and to share their personal artistic research through any kind of media, from painting to sculptures and installation, from photography to video art and live performance.

MORPHOS – TEMPORARY IDENTITIES 2025

**In celebration of its 25th Anniversary, Creative Capital expands its support of individual artists with the 2026 Open Call for the Creative Capital Award and the launch of the new State of the Art Prize.** 

**The Creative Capital Award** provides individual artists with unrestricted project grants for the creation of bold, innovative, original, and imaginative new artistic works. In addition to unrestricted project grants from $15,000 up to $50,000, the Award offers transformative professional development support including strategic advising, peer mentorship, industry connections, and community-building opportunities. Grants are awarded via a national, democratic, open call, external review process.

  
**The Creative Capital Award seeks project proposals in the following disciplines:**

* **Visual Arts**: architecture & design, craft, drawing & illustration, ecological art, installation, painting & printmaking, performance art, photography, public art, sculpture, social practice, sound art, video art, technology, and socially-engaged visual art
* **Performing Arts**: dance, jazz, multimedia performance, music, musical theater, opera, theater, playwriting, technology, and socially-engaged performing arts
* **Film:** animation, documentary film, experimental film, and narrative film
* **Literature**: fiction, nonfiction, and poetry

The Creative Capital Award 2026

Exhibitions bring art, culture, and scientific findings closer to the public, provide new perspectives and better understanding, and serve both educational and entertaining purposes. In times of multimedia oversupply, it is a major challenge to offer outstanding experiences or convey complex content in a way that arouses audience enthusiasm.

  
The 2025 Special Prize is intended to honor exhibition designs that address different sections of the population in an innovative, contemporary and, if possible, barrier-free way, while offering visitors new perspectives on the environment and society through impressive sensory experiences.

  
Individuals or initiatives (associations, offices, studios, etc.) that develop, design or convey the content of temporary or permanent exhibitions in or near Lower Austria can apply for the 2025 Special Prize for Exhibition Design.

  
Documentation in digital form that is suitable for presenting the award-winning project comprehensively and comprehensibly (descriptions, photos, videos, websites, etc.) as well as a biography must be submitted.

The Lower Austrian Cultural Prizes have been awarded since 1960 and are enshrined in the Lower Austrian Cultural Promotion Act. **Two recognition prizes of €6,000 each and one appreciation prize of €13,000 are awarded for each category**.

  
The recognition award is intended to support artists and cultural workers who have already achieved professional recognition for their work. The award can be submitted by an individual or a group of people (e.g., an association).

  
The award is intended to honor the complete work of an artist or group of people of national importance.

**The Documentary Film program supports creative documentary films in the Arab region. The program welcomes submissions by Arab directors of feature-length documentary film projects that are in development, production or post-production phases, as well as short and medium-length documentaries in production and post-production.**

  
WHAT DOES THE GRANT COVER?

  
* AFAC grants are intended for project production, including research and development phases. They may cover project-related expenses, including but not limited to materials, space or equipment rentals, and fees for artistic and technical labor and collaboration.

  
* A director and producer fee of not more than 30% of the total grant amount is also an allowable expense. If you are hesitant about how this works, you can always contact us with questions before submitting your final budget.

  
* Given the high demand for production support, AFAC cannot guarantee that all selected grantees will receive their requested amounts in full. We encourage applicants to diversify their sources of funding whenever possible.

  
* AFAC does not offer mobility grants, but travel expenses that are part of a project’s implementation and/or research may be covered by the grant.

  
* AFAC will not provide support retroactively to projects that have already been completed.

  
* For projects that have already started, we cover only expenses occurring after the agreement's signature date.

  
* AFAC launches two open calls every year for its different grant programs. The first is open to applications for Creative and Critical Writings, Documentary Film, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts grants. The second call is open to applications for Cinema, Music, Documentary Photography and Training & Regional Events grants. Each applicant (individual or institution) can only submit one application during each open call.

**The Documentary Film program provides annual grants up to USD 10,000 for development grants, up to USD 50,000 for production grants for feature-length films and USD 20,000 for short and medium-length documentaries, and up to USD 25,000 for post-production grants for feature-length films and USD 10,000 for short and medium-length documentaries.**

What are the innovative forms, ideas, and themes happening right now in artistic creation in the Midwest? The **South Bend Museum of Art’s** **_Biennial 33_** will present contemporary artwork in all media. Selected artists are asked to exhibit a body of work, or other presentation modality (site specific installation, projection reel, performance etc.), that gives a comprehensive look into their creative studio practice.

**The National Gallery of Canada’s General Idea Fellowship encourages and supports advanced research in contemporary art.** 

Research will relate to any aspect of contemporary art, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, artist’s books and multiples, video, installation and other media, and emphasize the use and investigation of the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, including the Art Metropole Collection, the General Idea fonds, the AA Bronson collection, and related materials in the Gallery’s collections.

Each award is limited to a maximum of $15,000, including expenses and/or a stipend.
