working grants for comic artists

The scholarships are intended for the artistic development of professional comic artists. Funding is provided for time-limited work projects or the continuation or completion of certain works. The criteria for awarding a scholarship are primarily artistic and content quality as well as innovation. The purpose of awarding the scholarship is also to support the development of the Berlin comics scene.

The Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion promotes art and culture within the scope of the responsibility of the state of Berlin. The focus is on promoting high-quality projects by Berlin artists. It is the task of the cultural administration to enable cultural participation and equal access - regardless of nationality, ethnic origin, gender, religion or ideology, disability, age or sexual identity.

An independent jury of experts will decide on the applications. The names of the jury members will be announced in due course. Please refrain from contacting the jury members personally in advance of the procedure.
