The City of Commerce City and the Commerce City Cultural Council are seeking to purchase three mural artworks from Colorado artist(s) who reside in Colorado Region. The artwork will be vinyl wrapped on the backside of a fitness court wall in Monaco Park, in Commerce City, CO.

The City of Commerce City is installing a Fitness Court in Monaco Park as part of a park renovation project. As part of this project, the City and Cultural Council is looking for three mural artworks to be vinyl wrapped on the backside of the fitness court wall. Each piece of artwork will be featured for at least one year. The Fitness Court mural wall will be 32 'L x 7' H (384”w x 85.75”h exactly) in size and printed digitally on high quality anti-graffiti laminated vinyl.

Themes/Criteria:

The art selection committee for Monaco Park seeks artwork that promotes positive imagery and represents local or regional values unique to the area. The goal is to share fun, vibrant, innovative artwork that tells the story of wellness and fitness in our community. To help artists prepare, the selecting committee has crafted the following guiding questions to consider:

• What, to you, best represents the community of Commerce City? How do you feel about your Commerce City community?
• What historical and cultural context of Commerce City can be incorporated into your design?
• What does Commerce City mean to you? What fills you with pride for Commerce City?
• What does a park mean to you? What does Monaco Park mean to you?
• Artwork must not:

1. condone violence or disturb the peace.
2. include reference to playgrounds or young children. (This is for safety purposes to avoid confusion; this is not a children's playground)
3. include reference to skateboarding or skate park imagery.
4. serve as an advertisement for any brand or business.
