How do we express the humanity of a place? To capture the humanity of the Oculus, I focused on its geometry and drew inspiration from the BAUHAUS movement and Kandinsky's model. My piece uses shapes and colors to evoke emotions and speak to the essence of the place.

What geometries underlie the built and natural environments? What traces of the past do they include? 

  
Buildings and their architecture are not just mere modifications of urban spaces. They reflect the technology and understanding of humanity at any given time. In particular, I have been captivated by the Oculus, a landmark designed by Santiago Calatrava, and its architectural details. Studying it as a spatiotemporal phenomenon included musicality to the forms that give them autonomy beyond objects of reference.

Recomposition No. 18 is a captivating geometric artwork featuring the Oculus building in downtown New York City. The base layer is a photograph that captures the building's raw textures and geometries. The geometric forms in the artwork are inspired by the timeless Bauhaus style, which blends effortlessly with the photograph's texture. They also represent the geometries of the space surrounding the Oculus. The forms are designed to reveal the musicality and rhythm inherent in their shapes. 

  
The blue ellipsis on the lower side of the composition represents a tranquil water pond, where water flows gently, while the downward-facing triangle provides a sense of dynamism. The yellow hue, on the other hand, adds a cheerful and bright contrast, creating a well-balanced artwork.Through its intricate design and color scheme, the artwork carries a narrative that reflects the urban space's complex cultural, human, and landscape layers while capturing its historical elements.

How does the urban environment and its architecture impact you? Buildings and structures are more than physical entities; they can convey a city's history, culture, and identity. My father instilled in me the importance of analyzing architectural details with technical precision, emphasizing the significance of perspective, balance, and scale. This experience ignited my passion for architecture and inspired me to incorporate geometric shapes and spatial concepts into my final artwork, which is the focus of Recomposition No. 10.

  
The Oculus is a contemporary architectural marvel with profound cultural and historical importance. Upon exploring the space, I analyzed its layers, delving into its past and present while appreciating its beauty. On the other hand, although the Freedom Plaza is an open space, its design is a fusion of diverse styles and influences. The commemoration of two former skyscrapers has been achieved by constructing two square fountains. These fountains serve as a tribute to the past and offer a space for healing and reflection. The water flow in these fountains helps to remember the past and creates a peaceful environment for those who visit. 

  
The digital painting on the upper left side of the artwork represents the water flowing over the remaining scars. The final image, inspired by the BAUHAUS movement and architectural details, is a geometric abstract that captures the essence of history while embracing modernity.

A digital collage, part of the New York City New Bauhaus: Oculus series, captures the urban space's complex cultural, human, and landscape layers. My approach involved photographing parts of the Oculus with their texture and geometry and using them as the base layer. The geometric forms incorporated in the composition were inspired by the Bauhaus style, which blends seamlessly with the photographs' raw texture. My process involved unveiling the musicality in the forms, which redirected the composition's focus. 

  
The artwork symbolizes the tragedy of the place while offering hope for the present and future, achieved through contrasting values and tones, creating a sense of tension and balance.
