This design features an open box, suggesting a window into the universe. Inside this frame, the spheres are placed in motion. Unlike the fixed orbs in the first ring, these spheres are loosely contained within the box. This setup represents celestial bodies and cosmic debris, while a black hole lends a subtle depth and creates the illusion of spiraling motion toward a central, unseen force.

Stellar Glimpse

At the heart of the composition is a spherical glass element screwed on with a thread, reminiscent of a lamp with light at its center. The surrounding spheres convey a sense of balance and unbalance, ascending and descending; they are made of translucent glass and silver, representing moons and other celestial bodies. These spheres are arranged in a seemingly erratic manner, but upon closer inspection, they follow a delicate balance, suggesting an invisible gravitational pull from the central planet.

The background is dark, speckled with green and blue tones that resemble the depths of space, hinting at movement and the orbits of these celestial bodies through the cosmos.

Erosion

Inspired by Mathias Malzieu's _The Mechanics of the Heart_, where the protagonist has a clock in his heart to keep it functioning, yet he must avoid intense emotions like anger and love, or risk breaking the mechanism. This serves as a metaphor for life: despite our efforts to control it, powerful passions can sweep us away. _Mechanical Heart_explores the duality of fear versus surrender, showing that intensity outshines time and that truly living means embracing, not evading, death.

Mechanical Heart

Inspired by the object that accompanied Françoise Gilot since the age of 3, when she first started using her mother's brushes. The brush remained in her hands from the age of 3 to 101\. Transforming this object into a ring is a way of immortalizing it in her hands.

The ring _Brush_ was selected to participate in the Battle of the Rings 2024, making it to the Sweet 16 out of 64 rings, and was on display during March at the Danaca Studio gallery in Seattle, USA.
