Whether it's a physical manifestation like our beds or more sentimental associations, like a hug from a friend, we are all familiar with the idea of home. This resonance has always intrigued my creative practice as much as it has in my personal life.

  
'Where the Heart Is' is a personal series that continues my exploration of our relationship with the concept of 'home'. The coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns took a toll on us beyond feeling "trapped". This series encourages reflection on our relationship with ourselves and how we think about our homes - as they became more than merely a place, we rest.

  
The series consists of 19 portraits taken during two nationwide lockdowns, adding colour to the participants' anecdotes. The replies reveal people citing home as a place of safety and comfort, while others spoke about being at home affected their relationship. Most responses are transcripts from diary entry-style voice notes, while others are text messages from the subjects. One subject replied by writing a letter to me as they pondered on home and its meaning in their lives.

Kevin Driscoll’s ‘A Monument to Contemporary Architecture’ calls attention to the cheap, almost ephemeral material quality of today’s architecture. The sculpture features thin columns that stand as frail descendants of the once strong and ornate stone columns of the past. As a memorial, it diverges from the expected overbearing weight and presence typically associated with such structures, yet it carries a significant presence in its own unique way.

In the serene tranquility of a moonlit night, a canvas unfolds into a dreamscape reminiscent of Chagall's enchanting style. Against the backdrop of a deep indigo sky, sprinkled with twinkling stars like scattered diamonds, a cow, a horse, and two goats emerge as ethereal beings, their forms bathed in the gentle glow of the moon. The horse, with its majestic mane flowing like a river of midnight silk, stands regally at the forefront, its eyes reflecting the mysteries of the night. Beside it, the cow, adorned with patches of midnight blue and hues of chestnut, exudes a sense of quiet contentment, as if lost in its own reverie.
