The concept of "hate/love" draws inspiration from the inherent self-loathing experienced by femmes, as well as a line from the Protomartyr song, Polacrilex Kid - "Can you hate yourself and still deserve love?" This juxtaposition explores the longing for acceptance, the depths of self-loathing, and the intricate feminine perspective.

"Don't Ask Me to Play Whip It!" is a playful and cheeky project that serves as a gift for David Kendrick, an American musician who is currently a member of the experimental pop band Xiu Xiu. As a former member of Gleaming Spires and Devo, he has recorded and toured with various bands, including Sparks, Andy Prieboy, and Revolushn. The project humorously pokes fun at Kendrick's past involvement with Devo, specifically referencing their hit song "Whip It".

"How to Trust Your Soul?" is a reflective piece that delves into the themes of self-doubt and optimism. It explores the inner workings of the human psyche, with a focus on trusting oneself and staying true to one's values and beliefs. While acknowledging the presence of self-doubt, the piece encourages you to listen to the voice within and to have faith in your intuition.

"It's Like Being in Heaven!" is a surreal and introspective piece that explores the sensation of being lost in one's own thoughts. The figure depicted in the artwork appears haunting and slightly blurred, conveying a sense of disassociation from reality.

Through the use of mixed media, I created a textured and layered piece that invites the viewer to reflect on their own experiences with self-torture.
