'Fish' is a play on the slang term for torpedo. The fish image has other meanings is in Evangelical presentations such as bumper stickers and small business signs. The lapel pins embedded in the frame evoke these other connotations.

Right

This large work consists of three canvases with one image each. They are of a woman at Lake Michigan in 1947, an advertising image of an artillery shell from a defense industry magazine, and a jihadist. These images are juxtaposed in order to explore the language or narrative implied.

Godhead

This very large work, at 16 feet wide and 9 feet in height, is compositionally based on the Ghent Altarpiece by Van Eyck. It represents imagery that took on a nearly mythological role in the mind of the artist as a boy, who dreamed of becoming a fighter pilot.

Ghent

This work juxtaposes an image from a 'B' movie from the 1940's with a self portrait of the artist at the age of five, with the central figure and the boy both depicted in red sweaters. The frame is decorated with keyholes. These elements are designed to evoke multiple narratives from the viewer.

The Red Sweater

This double portrait leaves the importance of the word 'secret' and its association with the two figures up to the viewer. Multiple narratives are implied. A Morse Code message is delineated in the small red and white rectangles cut into the frame. In the center of the piece is a representation of the cover used by the United States Department of Defense for documents classified as 'secret'.

I Have a Secret

This 4 x 4 inch canvas embedded in a wooden construction with .50 caliber bullets and a metal airplane toy evokes the religious objects traditionally found in altars within the home. This reflects a sort of subconscious personal mythology of the artist.
